Today was the day. Todaaaay was the day that she was going to marry the boy that she had liked…well…loved, really, since 3rd grade. Grace breathed in and out, nerves taking over her whole body. She sucked in a deep breath; her head whipping to the door when the wedding coordinator walked in and told her it was time. Standing up, she rubbed her clammy hands on her wedding dress, gulping, what she thought was, quietly. “Attractive, Grace…” She chuckled nervously, walking for the door. She needed her father, ASAP.
She made her to the doors that opened into the main part of the church, snaking her arm through her fathers. She turned to look at him, “M’nervous.” She mumbled, very obviously trembling. All eyes would be on her and that terrified her. She was marrying the man of her dreams, though, so that made it all better. “Okay, first, you have to breathe, Gracie.” Her father chuckled, patting her arm. Grace let out the breath that she didn’t even realize she was holding in, shooting a cheeky grin to her number one guy. “I love you, daddy. Let’s do this.” She nodded her head, feeling quite determined. She wasn’t going to trip and even if she did, she knew her father would catch her. He always did, no matter what.
The doors opened and the music started, the bridesmaids and groomsmen ushered in, finding their places around the altar, up next were the flower girl and the ring bearer, which was Pongo. It was Henry’s idea – he loved that dog and he wanted him in the wedding somehow. Up next, it was Grace’s turn. Taking a deep breath in, kissing her father on the cheek quickly, she stepped forward, “Let’s do this.” She walked forward, her eyes catching Henry’s for the first time.
